If you’re still in bed, don’t worry you still have time to enjoy one of the best brunches in Dallas. The Theodore has a brunch menu and make your own mimosa or bloody mary bar that has to be one of the better options in town.
Located at NorthPark Center with an exterior patio on the north entrance. Politely wait your turn at the old school hostess stand that honestly reminds me of being at a hotel in a classic movie. The wait typically isn’t too long but I obviously used my time wisely to snap a picture of the tiled floors.
You have the option of choosing the regular mimosa or making your own. I chose the make your own and put my own spin on it. My only advice here: Be courteous to other guests… I waited a bit too long behind women who must’ve thought they were at home carrying on a bit too long.
The brunch menu has everything from quiche, breakfast tacos, biscuits and gravy to french toast. I selected Fried Chicken & Coconut Waffles along with 2 Eggs Your Way. This isn’t your standard chicken and waffles. The syrup is better than anything I’ve had in Dallas (and maybe south of the Canadian border). The best part of the chicken is they are chicken strips! I am a complete food snob and I do not have time to deal with bones when I want to eat some chicken, especially when you add a waffle into the mix. When they brought this dish out, I had a Handmaids Tale moment and said, “Praise be.”
That mimosa was my own doing. You can add whatever juice or fruit you want. I was impatient with aforementioned ladies and didn’t have time to add much orange juice or any other fruit but I loved it just as it was. The clutch featured in the photo was what I picked up in Marrakech. Happy brunching!
