Traveling through The Netherlands by train is one of the best decisions anyone can make. Watching the sun come up in Nieuw Vennep with pastels swirls in the sky and looking and hints of gold burn through the sky and bounce of the water as the train passed through Hoofddorp… images I can never recreate. Arriving at Amsterdam Centraal was like waking up on Christmas morning.
Walking out of the station and seeing the canal with these beautiful buildings, you just feel the excitement. I set off in search of my hotel stopping at every store along the way. De L’Europe is the most luxurious hotel and I will have a full post on it later.
When in Amsterdam walk (or bike) everywhere you possibly can. Get lost. Explore and you will find the most beautiful streets, paths and of course places to eat.
You cannot skip the flowers. Without knowing much about Amsterdam or The Netherlands, it’s fairly common knowledge that they have some of the most beautiful tulips in the world.
Hot cocoa is so yummy here! My pancake with bacon was more like a crepe with bacon but it made me so happy because it was delicious (and as big as my head).
I went to museums which were extremely crowded (pre-book tickets) but I really just enjoyed walking around. Be mindful of the bicycles… I was run over by a bicyclist.
