Walking around London makes me happy. It’s not the formal Queen’s English or British accents (as much as I love them), but the hustle and bustle of Borough Market or strolling through the shops in Soho.
There are a few things to consider when choosing your hotel but generally I like Southbank because I don’t mind walking anywhere as long as I have a great view. Mondrian London is near the London Eye and a quick walk to Westminster for those who want to be in a cool location but near major sites.
Kensington is my other favorite area. The uniform white architecture is dreamy but it’s also a straight walk up Kensington or Cromwell/Brompton to get to Harrods, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Topshop and all the other shops.
Borough Market is a place I love to visit every time I am in London. It has amazing food and drinks but generally, it’s packed so be prepared to stand and eat. During the holidays it’s pretty special because it’s decorated and you find treats you don’t usually find.
If you’ve never been to London and want to see some spectacular views, obviously book your tickets to the London Eye and The Shard. I recommend talking to your hotel concierge for tickets or booking online to skip the queues.
