Vienna’s tree-lined streets and museum gardens are stunning. It is easily one of the most picturesque places to explore whether you’re on foot, traveling by car or horse-drawn carriage. I first fell in love with this city after watching The Woman in Gold. My love for art goes back to my early childhood years and the story of the painting weaved into history meant that I had to visit this city for myself.
With that in mind, the museums were first on my list of things to see. Gustav Klimt specifically. There are so many museums to choose from but the Belvedere Museum is where I suggest you start. Just take a minute to sit and look at his magnificent pieces but keep in mind there are so many other beautiful pieces to see too. The museum and palace architecture alone, are breathtaking. You know you’re walking up to a palace that seems otherworldly.
A short side trip to Hallstatt is positively dreamy. It is an easy train ride or if you’re adventurous, perhaps a road trip is more your style.
